Dear Reader,
Welcome to my blog.
To say this is my first blog would be an outright lie. No, this is definitely not my first blog. It is more like my 6th or 7th blog... Let me explain. I've been attempting to make and stick to one blog since I was in high school. It comes from my very passion tow rite. Before and during high school, I quenched my thirst for writing by keeping various journals. When the online age arrived, I, like many others, turned to the web to express myself. In college, I drifted away from writing, at least in a formal setting such as blog writing. Or there were periods where I would update my blogs every week and then not update for months. It was during Graduate School that I came back to the world of "blogging" by being asked to do so by professors for a grade. I later used this technique and required my own students to maintain blogs to involve them with the readings more and even have them exchange ideas throughout different sections.
Today, I look back at my blogging history with pride. After perhaps a long while, I am back and even more motivated to begin my writing journey or perhaps continue it by using this medium. A bit about me: I'm currently a free lance writer and editor. I am preparing to apply to a PhD program this fall (for the following year i.e. fall 2017). I am to pursue a degree in Composition and Rhetoric, which is the continuation of my Master's program. I am currently studying for my GRE's while making lists of prospective schools and emailing professors. It is my plan to begin revising and working on my Writing Sample shortly as I have been told, this is the most important aspect of the application.
This blog will be personal in some ways as I will post my own writings in either prose, poetry, or fiction; however, it will also be include my more professional writings related to my field or cross-reference other articles and blogs. I look forward to reading your comments.
Best Wishes,
Meela
