I have been following the program of "Living Your Best Year Ever" of Darren Hardy. I started studying this textbook weeks before but I was only able to fully "start" the program 3 weeks ago. I am in my 3rd week now. In fact, I made a post about it while I was in the process of evaluating my "current" life and making goals for my self. In fact, I shared my "Wheel of Life" results and made a public declaration to work on amending it.
I definitely do feel that so far, I have already seen certain changes in myself. For one, ever since I made this goal for myself two months back, I do write everyday. If I don't write first thing in the morning, all day I'm thinking about it and it bugs my mind until I finally settle down and write. In this way, writing has truly become a habit for me so that's a huge change for me--I feel like if I don't write one day, I just am not myself anymore. On the other hand, I have also made other subtle changes in myself. I have been trying to adapt into this new lifestyle that I've imagined for myself like turning off technology 2 hours before bed on weekdays, reading for 30 minutes before sleeping, listening to instructional material, setting stable shifts for myself during the week and tracking myself in how many hours I work and how many hours I get paid and how many more clients I need to reach my goals.
There are certain goals that are harder to reach for me like making it a habit to run 3x a week. In fact, I used to be able to do this and more--like 5-6 times a week. However, I haven't for a while so now it's just that much harder. And I've even found a somewhat "creative" solution to it. I am signing up for a 5k run with my sister in Berkeley for November 20th to force myself to run and at least get started! Already, I've been seeing a change in my body due to my 2x a week dance lessons (Ballet) but I need to also incorporate cardio and running especially because I truly am a runner! I want to be one. I envision myself as one. And when I did used to run regularly, I was seeing the improvements and I could definitely envision more.
In any case, I am on the route to making a change in myself not just in my life and my lifestyle but in myself. I've realized that the biggest obstacle that's standing between me and my goals is myself. To be able to lose 7 pounds, I need to become that person who runs 3x a week and does resistance training 2x a week. To be able to make more money and save more, I need to become that person who isn't shy to prospect new clients and works regular hours, even if it is part-time, it has to be consistent hours! And this holds true for all my other goals. I am truly grateful to be where I am today...at the age of 28, healthy and happy living with my husband trying to make a life together little by little and having the chance to remake myself and rebuild my image.
